My Son in Law applied for AOS on 13 Oct 2017. He visited CentreLink in Perth twice before and both times they saw that he was on their system. All good. We just had to wait.

However,Yesterday he visited them again and they simply cant find any trace of his application. He was passing by and did not have his file with him.The lady that helped him in the past recognized him and was baffled. Luckily he has an official CentreLink date tamp on a copy of his application forms. They could not call the relevant parties as they are in Sydney and had already closed for the day.Hopefully they will find the application on their system and/or fast track our application.

@DGT ~ from what I know after you visited Centerlink office to show your ID and other documents as a sponsor, Centerlink will date and stamp on your paper. After that, your son will need to upload those documents into My Centerlink online. They showed me how to upload when I was in their office.

I think they will escalate your case and your son will get an interview call very soon.

@Elna - congratulations - what a relief. Your gamble paid off, now you can go to Thailand and enjoy a well deserved holiday. It was a real roller coaster ride. Thank you for all that you contributed on this Thread - much appreciated.

@ Tina - if your AOS has been paid and approved how come your not yet granted? Will DIBP wait till they reach 13th April 2015 processing date? If so then not too long to go for.

It seems that DIBP spot on on their calculation of 36 / 39 month processing period - Elna applied on 25th Feb 2015 and got visa on 20th Feb 2018. Lets hope it carries on the same time period for all in the waiting room.

@DGT - sorry about that - hope all sorted now.

@Viet  --  welcome - yes you can join in. State your application date and destination - Tina will update chart.

For the rest of us - holding thumbs up.

Best wishes to all

@DGT we are also going through Perth. After submitting, my son also phoned a few times, personally visited a few.... he had seen the documents himself on the system. All was apparently good...... However, delays did occur.  Fist was a missing signature, then the docs were uploaded onto the wrong place and after being corrected they appeared in two different places on the system. The notification was never sent so my son received a letter asking him to please submit the AoS, 14 weeks after was had done so.  Again phone calls done, and an urgent was put onto the file. He received a second letter asking for the documents again, and that he please phone them to do the interview. He uploaded the missing docs, and did the call. Lovely lady, checked and all's good.  We now wait for the letter to take to the bank and do the payment.... So you perhaps you may receive a letter like us, asking you to arrange the call to them....... @TinaH you may update the schedule showing my interview date as of today 25th February... @Elna57 slowly my train is chugging towards the new horizons 😥😶😮🤗

According to DIBP 6218 visa were issued during the period 2016 / 2017 year.

3312 applications were received by them between 01/07/2016 and 30/06/2017

As at 30/06/2016 there were 29884 applicants in the pipeline and as at 30/06/2017 there were 38508 applicants.

My son in law went to Centrelink again Yesterday. Centrelink called Sydney and they also said that it was not on the system. The lady in Perth told them that she has a stamped application with her and they then agreed that they would re-submit and mark as "priority"

Thanks @JTM. Very interesting stats.

So we know that they could not complete more than 6218 applications in one year.We know that the limit is 7100 odd.

Also strange that they only received 3312 applications in one year although they are allowed to issue 7100 .I suppose that they are obviously keeping busy with the "old" applications and are only allowed to issue 7100 in one year,no matter how old they are?
